Amongst all classifying and separation technologies Hydrocyclones have the least complications in operation. Compared with other classifying machine, the biggest advantage of Hydrocyclones is there is no moving parts. So, it has simple structure and it is easy to use and maintain.
Meanwhile, it has large unite volume and large capacity. It also can work in many working conditions and only cover smaller area. Besides these above, it has following advantages
- Compared with other separation equipment, the cyclone has a higher classification efficiency, which can reach more than 80%.
- The particle size of the cyclone classification is fine, which can meet the requirements of industrial production.
- Strong work ability
HYDROCYCLONE VS SETTLING CHAMBERS –
Cyclones are somewhat more complicated in design than simple gravity settling systems, but their removal efficiency is much better than that of settling chamber.
HYDROCYCLONE VS CENTRIFUGES –
For hydrocyclones the centrifugal force is applied passively and there are no mechanical components except for the pump that feeds the system thus lower maintenance costs. If you have to handle large volumes then you need a classifying cyclone upstream as centrifuge has a lower volume handling capacity. Capital cost is much lower compared to a centrifuge.
HYDROCYCLONE VS ANY OTHER FINER CUT CLASSIFIER –
They can’t replace a finer cut processing classifier, but when the process rate increases then hydrocyclone is the solution to process the feed of you centrifuge, filter press, screens and other classification / separation equipment.
